Croatian School of Boston & NEFC Joint Event: Lecture by Prof. Ivo Galantic on Modern Art

Reserve the date: Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 pm

Dear families and friends of the Croatian community,

This year the New England Friends of Croatia celebrates its twentieth anniversary, and the Croatian School of Boston celebrates its fifth.

We are delighted to invite you to begin this year of celebration with an evening in honor of Ivo and Joyce Galantić. Prof. Ivo Galantić and his wife Joyce have been among the co-founders of the NEFC and have been contributing to a positive outlook of Croatia and its language and culture in many ways, through music, literature and arts.

As a part of the Croatian School of Boston regular guest lecture events and supported by the NEFC, Prof. Galantic will give a lecture with a slide presentation on modern art. Prof. of Fine Arts Ivo Galantic specialized in Italian Renaissance Art and earned a Ph. D. at Harvard. He is a professor emeritus of fine arts at Tufts University and taught History of Art and Architecture at the Harvard Extension School for most of his career. For most of us, modern art may seem confusing, even contradictory. Prof. Galantic's lectures explain the complex world of art simply and directly. For those who are familiar with art a little better, his lectures never miss the opportunity to illuminate it in new ways.
